The latest issue of Surfer Magazine hits mailboxes and newstands in a few days, and this month brings the time-honored Surfer Poll edition. Wouldn't you know it? Four out of the six surfers on the front cover are distinguished members of our Red Bull family. In keeping with the good year she's having, besides leading the current ASP rankings at the moment, Sofia Mulanovich also took top honors at the Surfer Poll, voted the most popular female waverider in all of surfdom. And rounding out his 2007 world title, Mick Fanning finished second in at the Poll. Andy Irons took the fifth slot and brother Bruce wrapped it up comfortably in seventh. Also worthy of note in this issue of Surfer is Ian Walsh receiving the Heavy Water Award for his antics in O'Neill's in flick "The Life".
Blurbbed "The Most Influential Surfers of the Year", the accomplishment is no small feat, especially considering the Poll's more or less a popular election, so no swing states, no electoral college map, just a straight up, old fashion contest to he who's popular with the people. Congratulations go out to all of the surfers, good on ya, and keep up the hard charging.
