ESPN Eyeballs Julian, Jordy, and Adriano

In the May 4, 2009, issue of ESPN Magazine, as well as featured on ESPN.com, writer Max Klinger ponders just who the hell is going to fill Kelly Slater's shoes when he finally steps away from competitive surfing. He assess that similar to when Michael Jordan retired from the NBA, inevitably there's going to be a gap before somebody comes close to achieving that kind of iconic status, but in Max's article, aptly titled "Big Board Shorts To Fill," he highlights Red Bull family members Adriano De Souza, Jordy Smith, and Julian Wilson as possible heirs to the thrown. Also included on the list is Dane Reynolds and Jeremy Flores. No matter who ends up as "the next Kelly," it's a pretty dang distinguished list, and definitely an entertaining talking point.
