November 2008 Archives
The first event of the 08/09 North Shore season is in the books, and a warm round of applause for Pancho Sullivan who won the Excel Pro...for the forth time in his career! 2005 champ Ian Walsh bowed out of the comp in the Round 32. All in all, it was a good start to the winter, and hopefully the good swells and good times just keep on coming.
It's been a long summer/fall for Julian. He's been laid up ever since busting up his ankle while trotting out for a surf in California shortly after the U.S. Open. But things are looking brighter now. He's got plans to be on the North Shore and will finally be back in the water by then. He'll be posted up at the Red Bull Off The Wall house with a few of the other boys...but we'll tell you more about that later.
Like most other California surfer Kolohe's been reveling in the fall conditions. It's been an amazing season, and it's not over. As I write this the winds are offshore again and a small south swell's on the rise. Lowers, Salt Creek, Santa Cruz, Kolohe's been hitting them all up...and somewhere in the fray figuring out a way to get the job done at school too.
Mick missed the Brazil event this year, using the time back home to rest a worn and weary body. But with the Triple Crown starting in a few days, he's on the mend, on his way to The Rock, and will be back in froth mode before you know it. Wade Tokoro's been carving out his winter quiver, so he boards should be set too. Stay tuned as White Lightening strikes Hawaii.
