One of the most feared young competitors on the ASP World Tour, Jordy Smith hails from Durban, South Africa, and has been an integral presence on the Red Bull Surfing squad. When he stuck that massive rodeo flip on the Mentawai trip, it was like a shot heard around the world. Everybody from ESPN to Yahoo picked up the video, and overnight he went from surf star to mainstream sports star.

As of late Jordy is splitting time between his hometown of Durban and the more centrally located Newport Beach in California. When he's not on the road he's becoming a fixture at Lowers, and given his bag of tricks, has been having a field day.
